Humble Desperation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On the wretched marred surface and depths of our lives, God works miracles for us with forgiveness, making us precious, just as the golden sunset turns glazed, rutted, treacherous ice into a wonder to behold.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Psalms 51:13<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will return to you.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luke 18:13<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the tax-collector, standing far off, would not even look up to heaven, but was beating his breast and saying, \u201cGod, be merciful to me, a sinner!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Words of Grace For Today<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s hard to be that tax collector, so out of character, beyond anyone\u2019s expectations, actually humbly, desperately begging God for mercy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yet that is God\u2019s intention for each and all of us, to be the outsiders, the ones done in, the ones rejected … and yet for us to be the ones most blessed by God\u2019s mercy. The deeper the hole we get ourselves into, the greater God\u2019s mercy for us is an obvious demonstration of God\u2019s grace for all people to take note of!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting there, recognizing the hole of sin we\u2019ve dug ourselves into, each day, each worship service, each moment allows us to humbly and desperately beg for and accept<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God\u2019s strength in weakness,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christ\u2019 sacrifice on the cross to give us new life,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and to meet other people\u2019s sins with that same humble forgiveness fuelled by God\u2019s mercy for us and for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our teaching and inspiring is not about bringing people to be good, or better or less bad. That is the work of the Holy Spirit, which is evident all around us and in us … if we take notice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our teaching and inspiring others is only to teach all people of God\u2019s ways, God\u2019s ways of mercy, forgiveness, and renewed life for even the most wretched of sinners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That will keep us more than busy this day, and each day gives us breath.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
