Peace,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even In The Longest Darkness,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Or The Longest Day!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Psalm 25:17<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Relieve the troubles of my heart, and bring me out of my distress.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

John 16:33<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have said this to you, so that in me you may have peace. In the world you face persecution. But take courage; I have conquered the world!\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Words of Grace For Today<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m sure that to the many first century Christians who were persecuted and killed for their faith the statement that \u2018Jesus had conquered the world\u2019 rang pretty empty. As it has for so many persecuted Christians since,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even to this day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Truer to so many hearts are the Psalmist\u2019s words, \u201cRelieve the troubles of my heart, and bring me out of my distress.\u201d <\/em>and in the German the translation include, \u201c<\/em>The anxieties of my heart are great!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Troubles are one thing that is common to most humans. And the most destructive response is fear run wild become panic.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In panic we are unable to do anything wise.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thus Jesus\u2019 words are most helpful, \u201cI have said this to you so that you may have peace!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peace is the beginning of coping with any situation, even the most dire and even those that are sure to result in great suffering and even our deaths.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peace.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

May it permeate from God\u2019s Spirit to our spirits and into our bones, muscles and minds,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
