The Light Is Gold,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Light Is Distant,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The View Mottled.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

How Does the Light Reach Us?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zephaniah 3:7<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I said, \u2018Surely the city will fear me, it will accept correction; it will not lose sight of all that I have brought upon it.\u2019 But they were the more eager to make all their deeds corrupt.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luke 19:45-46<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then he entered the temple and began to drive out those who were selling things there; and he said, \u2018It is written, \u201cMy house shall be a house of prayer\u201d; but you have made it a den of robbers.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Words of Grace For Today<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In all our efforts to have a \u2018good\u2019 life, we most of all deny that we have screwed up life tremendously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We try to pretend that it\u2019s just a little problem, that we did something \u2018not quite right.\u2019 When in fact the result is a crack in the foundation of our lives that tears more than the curtain in the temple. It tears apart our own hearts, minds, and souls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whenever God gives us \u2018temples\u2019 and \u2018houses of prayer\u2019 we turn them into \u2018dens of robbers\u2019 in so many ways, so many same old, same old ways, that people have used since the beginning of time, all trying to make our own way in life and make it better than it was. The more God gives us the more eager we are to make all our deeds corrupt, trying to cover up our latest corrupt deeds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What does God do with us, then?!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God uses exactly those cracks in the foundation of our lives to shine the Light of Christ into the foundations of our lives,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

to revive us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God never repairs the cracks, as if they never were. The wounds heal, though the cracks remain, so that the Light can continue to shine in on us<\/p>\n\n\n\n

so that we can live and breathe in the Light<\/p>\n\n\n\n

even as we turn yet to more corrupt deeds,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

also this day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By God\u2019s Grace alone, though we can breathe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Breathe,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and bask in the Light,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and give God thanks,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and trust the call to go out to share the Light with all people.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
