The Lake Sings The Morning In!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another Gift From God,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

so precious.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nahum 1:7<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lord is good, a stronghold on a day of trouble; he protects those who take refuge in him,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matthew 7:7<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ask, and it will be given to you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

…<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Words of Grace For Today<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

All of us have asked for things to be a bit better,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

or a lot better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And<\/p>\n\n\n\n

it seldom<\/p>\n\n\n\n

turns out to be better,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

especially if we get exactly what we\u2019ve asked for!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thankfully God<\/p>\n\n\n\n

hears our pleas, our cries, our wailings, our dreams, or requests,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God most often only gives us what we need<\/p>\n\n\n\n

to<\/p>\n\n\n\n

offer life abundant to others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So much for getting<\/p>\n\n\n\n

it to be a little bit better for ourselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So we could say, following Jesus really is a bummer, right?!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What God provides that we seldom ask for is<\/p>\n\n\n\n

everything we need to live life abundantly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is certainly so that living with everything hunky doory and with an abundance of what the world would have us chase after, is not<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God\u2019s life abundant<\/p>\n\n\n\n

that we receive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instead<\/p>\n\n\n\n

we receive hope, the ability to love and be loved, the ability to be kind and honest, the ability to give<\/p>\n\n\n\n

to the most needy<\/p>\n\n\n\n

what they desperately need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And then God gives us the ability to say thanks and enter each day<\/p>\n\n\n\n

confessing our sins, and relying wholly on God to bring us to do good things for others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Or, when God does not give us exactly what we asked for (that would be so bad for us) we can pretend to be astounded and selfishly ask,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
