From the Ur-Waters of Precreation,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

to the Storms of Today,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

God Claims Us.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Isaiah 43:1<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel:Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luke 19:5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, \u2018Zacchaeus, hurry and come down; for I must stay at your house today.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Words of Grace For Today<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How hard we all work to get where we are!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like Zacchaeus we may have taken advantage of others, but the work was not easy and the price we paid, over and over again, was not nothing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s cost us so much, really.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then Jesus calls us, \u201cCome Down. Hurry!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God formed us, named us, and claimed us, and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

did God ever intend for us to climb so high up where we\u2019ve gotten,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

on the backs of other people<\/p>\n\n\n\n

paying the price with our hearts<\/p>\n\n\n\n

minds<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and souls?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coming Down can be harder than climbing up. It\u2019s not easy. It\u2019s hard to give up what we think we\u2019ve earned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Down with Jesus, breaking bread with him, celebrating the goodness of life, we see again how far we\u2019ve wandered away from God\u2019s love and life<\/p>\n\n\n\n

given to us in the beginning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
