Proverbs 14:34<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luke 22:39-40<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He came out and went, as was his custom, to the Mount of Olives; and the disciples followed him. When he reached the place, he said to them, \u2018Pray that you may not come into the time of trial.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Words of Grace For Today<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We would like to believe that our lives serve a great purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe we will do something as purposeful as \u2018Saving Private Ryan\u2019, sacrificing our own lives so that the last son of a family of fallen sons can return alive to his grieving, thankful parents. Of course we\u2019d like to turn the story just at tad, and survive as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But that is not likely to be<\/p>\n\n\n\n

if we are left to our own devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The temptations of sin are great and the cost is absolute, final, and ultimate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unless …?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unless what?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unless God saves us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So we pray \u2018save us from the time of trial.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
