Welcome to Paradise,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

or<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

is it the Wilderness?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deuteronomy 6:10-12<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the Lord your God has brought you into the land that he swore to your ancestors, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give you\u2014a land with fine, large cities that you did not build, houses filled with all sorts of goods that you did not fill, hewn cisterns that you did not hew, vineyards and olive groves that you did not plant\u2014and when you have eaten your fill, take care that you do not forget the Lord, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Words of Grace For Today<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Poverty is a wonderful lesson in humility,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

or so they say,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those who are not poor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thankfully the food bank is a steady and good supply of most basic foods and some others,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

actually some very odd food that I\u2019d never try or eat if I didn\u2019t get them there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take Cookies and Cream Oatmeal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A treat in a breakfast food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well I suppose they\u2019ve made and sold lots of sugar cereals for decades, so why not this, too?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With<\/p>\n\n\n\n

all<\/p>\n\n\n\n

this<\/p>\n\n\n\n

food<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I easily forget<\/p>\n\n\n\n

how hard it was<\/p>\n\n\n\n

before<\/p>\n\n\n\n

the food bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not that I forget (life is too hard) how much God provides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every morning I thank God for everything that keeps me alive, and it\u2019s more than just enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lately there\u2019s been so much meaningful labour<\/p>\n\n\n\n

it\u2019s hard to keep up<\/p>\n\n\n\n

as winter is coming<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and autumn is not that long<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And there\u2019s still wood to start collecting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

little by little<\/p>\n\n\n\n

a thing here and a thing there gets done<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I start to think<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I may even be ready, for winter,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018God willing and the creek nor rising\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So today<\/p>\n\n\n\n

first the thanks,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

then the celebration,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

then the meal<\/p>\n\n\n\n

then<\/p>\n\n\n\n

flat out work<\/p>\n\n\n\n

if the rain is not too much or<\/p>\n\n\n\n

the smoke too thick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And how is your day shaped? With thanks, remembering who supplies all that keeps you alive, celebration, meal, and work?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Or is it something else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whatever, may it be blessed,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and may you remember who blesses it,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
