Like the Clouds Pouring to the Sunset-Horizon,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

So People Have Died Unnecessary and Early Deaths<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

at Our Hands.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Second Samuel 2:26<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then Abner called to Joab, \u2018Is the sword to keep devouring for ever? Do you not know that the end will be bitter? How long will it be before you order your people to turn from the pursuit of their kinsmen?\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matthew 26:52<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then Jesus said to him, \u2018Put your sword back into its place; for all who take the sword will perish by the sword.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Jesus and many others have said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Those who live by the sword will die by the sword.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But that is not the problem for most people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The problem is that those who live by the sword<\/p>\n\n\n\n

have helped thousands of millions to their unnecessary and early deaths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The truth is<\/p>\n\n\n\n

that there are lots of ways we help others to their unnecessary and early deaths,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

starting with ignorance and apathy,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

a cruel or unthinking word,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

an action to \u2018protect our interests\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

while decimating others\u2019 interests and lives directly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How not to particiapate in this popular project?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Compassion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thoughtfulness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prayer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All that Jesus directed us to with the greatest command:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

to love our neighbour as ourselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And how will we do that today,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

in a new<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and newly effective way?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
