We Can Do.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

About God\u2019s Commandments,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Psalm 119:73<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your hands have made and fashioned me; give me understanding that I may learn your commandments.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 Thessalonians 2:15<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by our letter.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Words of Grace For Today<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To learn God\u2019s commandments,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The God that made and fashioned us,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

it not<\/p>\n\n\n\n

merely to read the commandments, and perhaps memorize them, and then be able to regurgitate them for another person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To learn God\u2019s commandments, the commandments of the God who create us,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

is to<\/p>\n\n\n\n

know them by heart, mind and soul<\/p>\n\n\n\n

so that, like muscle memory,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

they become second nature<\/p>\n\n\n\n

to our dealings with others<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and all we do<\/p>\n\n\n\n

as we traverse<\/p>\n\n\n\n

the life that God created us to live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Holding to traditions may seem to help,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

but<\/p>\n\n\n\n

to actually learn God\u2019s commandments<\/p>\n\n\n\n

is something so far beyond anything<\/p>\n\n\n\n

we are capable of,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

so that we must recognize<\/p>\n\n\n\n

only as the Holy Spirit makes us able<\/p>\n\n\n\n

can we learn (know, and do, and have embedded in our being)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

anything about God<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and anything good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So we pray each day:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

with thanks for everything that keeps us alive,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

for forgiveness for all our sins,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and that we may do what is good and what is necessary,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

which is to trust that the Holy Spirit will be with us through it all,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

giving us what we need<\/p>\n\n\n\n

to do what is good and necessary each day,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

even today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
