Genesis 6:9<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are the descendants of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation; Noah walked with God.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instead, as he who called you is holy, be holy yourselves in all your conduct;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ah to be blameless, pure and holy,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

but that would be to be not human.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So how was Noah attributed with being blameless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How can the writer of 1 Peter call us to be holy as Jesus is holy?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wishful thinking,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

the kind that so many people have latched on to, chasing an unreachable dream,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and then using that dream to condemn others so the condemner appears (to themselves anyway) to be better than the condemned,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

when<\/p>\n\n\n\n

all are equally sinful in God\u2019s eyes, far from pure, holy, or blameless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yet Jesus offers us the gifts of being reckoned by God as he was: pure, holy, or blameless,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

which is not our record, but Jesus\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nothing to brag about or be proud of, just<\/p>\n\n\n\n

a whole lot of humility and thanks for that,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
