Sin Casts A Wide Net<\/h3>\n\n\n

The Well Trod Path of Sin.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Easier than bushwhacking our way?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Psalm 103:6<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lord works vindication and justice for all who are oppressed.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

James 4:17<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyone, then, who knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, commits sin.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Words of Grace for Today –<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scriptures contain so many promises and promises and promises of how God comes to the aid of those who suffer, especially those who suffer at the hands of other humans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But<\/p>\n\n\n\n

we honestly can say<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We truly wish it were so!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The deep rooted, widespread, ongoing problem is simply that we humans are creative, most creative, when it comes to doing what we know is not right,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

telling ourselves<\/p>\n\n\n\n

so rationally<\/p>\n\n\n\n

so heartfelt<\/p>\n\n\n\n

so comprehensively<\/p>\n\n\n\n

that though we know we are doing wrong,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

we really are doing the best<\/p>\n\n\n\n

for us<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and that makes it right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And since God created us to love, which requires freewill, including the choice to not love,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

therefore<\/p>\n\n\n\n

we will always be very creative at sinning,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and causing harm and suffering to others (and ourselves – for doing others harm, causing suffering, always comes back on the perpetrators more powerfully than on their original victims.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So we could go out and wipe out all those sinful people. Ending humanity no less.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the most profound word is<\/p>\n\n\n\n

that vengeance is God\u2019s,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

not ours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So we will continue to sin, causing harm and suffering,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and we will continue to hope that God will set things right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe in the afterlife?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe in our hearts?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe not turning everyone from vengeance, destruction, and manipulation (deadly as any other attack on another person),<\/p>\n\n\n\n

but bringing a few in every generation to know<\/p>\n\n\n\n

love<\/p>\n\n\n\n

as the purpose of life,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
