We measure life<\/p>\n\n\n\n
in money<\/p>\n\n\n\n
in power<\/p>\n\n\n\n
in popularity<\/p>\n\n\n\n
in relative privileges and comforts<\/p>\n\n\n\n
in things of this world,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
– ignoring those who come up short.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
…<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And so many must come up short.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
…<\/p>\n\n\n\n
God has always given special attention to those measured as coming up short:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
the meek<\/p>\n\n\n\n
the widows<\/p>\n\n\n\n
the orphans<\/p>\n\n\n\n
the slaves<\/p>\n\n\n\n
the servants<\/p>\n\n\n\n
the handicapped<\/p>\n\n\n\n
the ill,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
– which pretty much leaves no one out, except those that insist on staying out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jesus reaches down where we think people don\u2019t even count, and invites us all to come to the feast of knowing Jesus at home, and in the feast of life (purchased with his death.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For God measures life<\/p>\n\n\n\n
in empathy<\/p>\n\n\n\n
in forgiveness<\/p>\n\n\n\n
in helping<\/p>\n\n\n\n
in serving<\/p>\n\n\n\n
in love<\/p>\n\n\n\n
in joy<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and in hope,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
– and in seeing everyone as they are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
